Saturday, February 4, 2017:  Middle of the winter.  Chef Paula decided to make buckwheat pancakes on this zero degree cold morning. 
She started with pancake mix from the Christmas Point Wild Rice Company in Baxter, Minnesota.
She added heavy milk and two eggs, stirring just enough, but not too much. 
Then the batter went on a family heirloom aluminum pan that distributes heat perfectly.  Yes, the pancakes turned a just-right golden brown.
On the table with real butter, maple syrup from Wisconsin, and Arco Norseman Grog Coffee, it was a feast fit for a king.
