Wednesday, January 25, 2012:  The mailbox at Gilbert Lodge has snow on top much like the lodge itself.  Winter has been mild this year with probably less than 5 inches of snow so far.

 
Chef Paula

Chef Paula was in the Grand Galley at Gilbert Lodge creating another delicious dinner.  Shown here are some of the ingredients. 

What is she cooking?

Hmmm...it is buffalo meat along with celery, onions, and more.
She added several kinds of beans.
Then she drained any grease off while it was still cooking.
Wow!...she combined it all to make buffalo chili. 
On the table, it was just right on a cold winter evening.

Chef Paula sometimes makes buffalo burgers when bison is available.  It all depends on how she feels about it that day.  Chef's Surprise is often a good thing.
