Friday, April 15, 2011:  A spring snow bought another inch of snow to Gilbert Lodge. 

Later in the day, the snow had melted, but the skies were still overcast.  Gilbert Lake still had ice on it save for some open water near the shore.

April 17, 2011:  Now we are getting somewhere.  The skies cleared and ice was melting.   

A few Minnesota Loons showed up to ply the waters looking for fish. 

April 20, 2011:  The ice is gone from this part of Gilbert Lake.  It is blue skies ahead as spring comes to Gilbert Lodge.
