Tuesday, March 29, 2011: Spring melting is here. Temperatures were climbing into the 40's and 50's while overnight temperatures were just a little below freezing. Twelve inches of snow the week before was melting in an interesting way along the roadside where a snowplow pushed snow so that it could melt between chunks of snow. |
|
Snow melted off spots where the sun could hit it, especially on the lakeside of Gilbert Lodge. Gilbert Lake still has a way to go. Stay tuned for news of lake ice going out. |

Chef Paula used the opportunity to cook her famous pork cutlets in a sauce that was made of maple syrup, catsup, extra virgin olive oil, and Kentucky Bourbon. This recipe is guaranteed to please. |

On the table with Brussels sprouts and Minnesota wild rice, it was excellent. |
On this day in 2009, Deep Diver Paula was diving through the ice near Crosby, Minnesota. |
