Tuesday, November 23, 2010:  Mark was working in western Minnesota and caught this shot of snowy weather. 
   

Later, there was a sun dog at sunrise.  Ice crystals formed a rainbow around the sun.

Snow was hanging on trees in the brilliant afternoon sun.    

At Gilbert Lodge, melting snow turned to ice in a rain bucket outside. 
   

The official rain/snow gauge showed about two inches of precipitation by late in the day.

A cheery fire in the Grand Fireplace felt good on this cold day.    

Chef Paula cooked a beer-cheese soup to warm the heart.  It was made with Wisconsin cheese and included a dash of Tabasco Sauce.       

You can't end a meal like that without dessert.  In this case, it was black cherry ice cream with Nestlé's chocolate sauce.  It doesn't get any better than that!
