17, 2010:
A traveling exhibit from the Library of Congress was in Brainerd. It had
displays about people who changed the course of history in our country.
They included statesmen and inventors. Unfortunately, no photographs were
allowed inside. Find out more about the Library of Congress by going to:

Thursday, November 18, 2010: Chef Paula made her highly acclaimed Pork Tenderloin Paula. The recipe included mixing maple syrup, cider vinegar, and olive oil into a paste. Then it was put over pork on an open skillet in an oven. Just before serving, the pork was topped with a mixture of mayonnaise, Dijon Mustard, and maple syrup. A real crowd pleaser. |
Friday, November 19, 2010: The weather was turning colder. This may be the last time we see open water on Gilbert Lake. |
(l-r) Jody Drummond, Paula, Dennis
Drummond, Mark, and Jim Barry. Friends gathered for dinner at the Green
Lantern on Highway 18 about half way between Brainerd and Garrison, MN. |
Saturday, November 20, 2010: Sure enough, the next morning there was a thin layer of ice on Gilbert Lake. Still some open water, but not much. |
Down by the shore, ice has captured a fallen tree branch. A light dusting of snow is starting to cover the ice. |
November 20, 2010: We were pleased to learn that five of Mark's photos from the 7th Annual Haunted Trail charity fund raiser in Brainerd were published in the fall 2010 issue of the Northland Arboretum ArbLIFE Magazine. Good going, Mark! |
Quote of the day: Like it or not, winter is here. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
