Saturday, November 13, 2010: There was an open house at the Franklin Arts Center in Brainerd, MN. It was the annual holiday gathering, which is a part of the Crossing Arts Alliance. Many hundreds of people showed up to
see arts and hear the music. In this scene, (l-r) Dennis Coryeil, Jim
Olsen, and Cleo Kuelbs entertained the crowd with Christmas music. |
Elsewhere in the building, Paul Bloom was demonstrating pottery making. It all starts with dried clay that he adds water to. |
Paul turned a pottery bowl to the delight of onlookers. He has been doing this for 40 years and is a real artisan. |
The practiced hands of Mr. Bloom fashioned this clay stoneware before it was fired in a gas kiln at 2400 degrees. It was a real crowd pleaser. |
Quote of the day: There are some wonderfully creative people out there. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
