5, 2013: Snow embraced the Northland. It covered the trees with a graceful coat. |
Maintenance man Mark was out with his trusty
10-horse snow thrower cleaning the driveway to Gilbert Lodge. In all, about six inches of snow fell in the area. |
The wind cam up later in the day knocking snow off
the trees. That meant more snow throwing to clean up. Birds managed to make it to the feeder even in the wind. |
A City of Brainerd snowplow came through late in the
day and that snow had to be cleared as well. The snow thrower did just as it was designed to do. It threw the snow a good distance. |
Here it is near the mailbox where the snow is about
24 inches deep.
It was no match with this machine that has a 27 inch wide scoop. |
Quote of the day: Springtime is snow time in Minnesota. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
