Wednesday, March 6, 2013: Deep Diver Paula was out SCUBA diving again at Little Cayman Island. She dove on the MV Captain Keith Tibbetts. It is a Russian destroyer, built in 1984. Sold to Cuba during the cold war, it was resold in 1996 to the Cayman Island Government It was sunk for diving that same year. |

Just a ghost of what it was at one time.
Hard to believe the ship was sunk just 12 after it was built. Now it is only 30 years old and is a playground for fish and SCUBA divers. Mark and Paula have been married for about 35 years. |

A Grouper was lurking nearby. Big mouth. Is it hungry? |

Lobster.
Could be good eating if they let you catch one, but they don't. |

A Stingray. Gosh, that is the name of a car too. |

The sea bottom with bubbles rising.
Paula, Is that the bottom of a SCUBA diver on the left? |

Sunset at the end of the day. |
We won the trivia
contest last night at the bar. Received a bottle of champagne
that disappeared very quickly. |
E-mail from Paula: Hi Hon: Did three dives on the Tibbetts. Got to see a shrimp cleaning the inside of a groupers mouth. Neat to see how fish will line up to be cleaned. Getting warm enough today so that the iguana joined us for lunch. Finally have lots of sunshine. Today is a good day in paradise. Will touch base later. xxx ooo xxx Paula |
Quote of the day: The Caribbean is quite a place. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
