Mark and Paula were mostly recovered from 20 hours of travel
on a return trip from Hawaii. The time zone difference between Hawaii
and Brainerd is 4 hours, which further complicated getting their bodies back on
Central Time.
Their six year old car, Creampuff, started on the first turn of the key when it was 5 degrees below zero. That was after it sat out for over two weeks in weather that was as much as 28 degrees below zero with a 40 mph wind at times. All that with a 3 year old battery. Thank you General Motors!

Paula brewed some fresh Kona coffee, which she and Mark learned to like in Hawaii. It went even better with her famous date nut bread at breakfast time. A Gilbert Lodge favorite. |

Dessert at some lodge meals is Shortbread Cookies from
Big Island Candies
on the Island of Hawaii. These cookies were hand-dipped in caramel and dark chocolate. |
Oh, what will their next great adventure be? Time will tell. |
