The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Sunday, January 20, 2013:  Hawaii is a tropical paradise.

Bananas are raised there, but not exported.  Hawaiians eat them instead.

You can't hardly look around without seeing the ocean crashing in on the lava shore.
Some sea turtles come up to beaches to warm themselves in the sun.

This one was about four feet long.

Paula was carrying her camera as well to capture scenes.

Paula spent a fair amount of time looking longingly out to sea.

She did not have a bathing suit along.  Darn!

Good thing there was a sign nearby with clear directions.

Local author Steve Johnson penned some of his laid-back thoughts in several books which are distributed in Hawaii.

He tells of a simple life.  Mark came to believe that native Hawaiian life is like a song swaying in a gentle breeze.

A great philosophy to live your life by.

Sunset that day was as good as any other day on this island in paradise.

Just two days left in Hawaii before heading home.

Quote of the day:  Hawaii will live in my heart forever...and especially on cold winter days.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
