Saturday, January 19, 2013: Dave and Jean Schaeffer along with Mark and Paula headed north into the Kona tourist area to see what they could see. | |
Beautiful beaches were appreciated along the way.
|
Then there was a tour of the
Hulihe'e
Palace.
Built in 1844, it was home to Hawaiian royalty for many years. It is now a museum, but no photos are allowed inside. |
The Hawaiian receptionist was happy to pose for a photo. Nice lady. A statue of King Kamehameha I was seen further north on the trip that day. |
Hawaii has a rocky shoreline in many places.
This spot is several hundred feet up from the water on the northwest side of the island. |
Hawaii has many beautiful roads in its countryside. The only problem is figuring out pronunciations on road signs. It wouldn't be as bad if we could all speak Hawaiian.
|
Paula could not take her eyes off the
sunset that day. |
More from Hawaii soon. |
Quote of the day: Hawaii should definitely be on your bucket list. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
