         The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons
Sunday, January 13, 2013:  Paula discovered a bird along Waikiki Beach that was tame enough to land on her hand.

She is a real friendly person and animals are just naturally attracted to her. 
Then it was off to the Honolulu airport where they boarded a flight for the "Big Island" otherwise known as the Island of Hawaii. 
The left photo shows the plane flying by Diamond Head on Oahu and the right photo is some of the black lava shoreline of Hawaii from the air.
 
It didn't take them long to meet some of the local folks who had just finished performing the Hula.

Hawaii is a very friendly place.

 
Paula and Mark then headed to a place to wet their whistles after the flight. 

Hmmm...Longboard Island Lager Beer.

Yes, it is an island favorite.

When on the island, do as the islanders do, according to Mark. 

A Gecko showed up to check on Mark and Paula.

This one was about 5 inches long.

And you thought they weren't real!

Yes, this is an island paradise.
