         The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons
Saturday, September 8, 2012:  Mark and Paula stopped at a farmer's market in Mora, Minnesota. 

Wonderful produce from local farms.

Paula selected some whole wheat bread from an Amish family and some squash.

It doesn't get much better than that.

Then it was off to the annual Arts and Craft Fair at Little Falls, Minnesota. 

Hundreds of vendors and thousands of people make this event one of the best in the region.

Police were there directing traffic and cell phone service was questionable due to the high demand.

Paula picked up four lawn sprinklers and happily brought them home.

While most of the products at the fair were made locally, the sprinklers came from Jim and Jo Cook of Fremont, Michigan.  At least they were made in the USA!  The Cook's have been in business making quality lawn sprinklers for 18 years.

The sprinklers work well and are a blessing for the wild flowers at Gilbert Lodge with very dry weather conditions late in the summer.
Analysis of the vacation trip to Door County:  The journey lasted nine days and eight nights (August 31st through September 8th).  See the stories on this blog leading up to this day.  In that time, they covered 1412 miles getting 21.9 miles per gallon in Paula's GMC Rendezvous car.  It got 23.1 miles per gallon on the open road.  They consumed 24 bottles of water and stopped many places to see the sights.
