Friday, September 7, 2012:
Mark and Paula crossed the bridge to leave Door County after a sailboat
went through in the morning. It was a Friday....a good day to go sailing, but they were on the road to St. Paul. |
First it was breakfast at the Steel
Bridge Cafe on the south side of the Bridge. A fun place for locals and tourists. |
One of the favorites is Door County Cherry Pancakes.
Of course, what else would they serve since the area is known for cherries! Great Stuff. |
Then it was off to
Renard's Cheese
about ten miles south of Sturgeon Bay.
This place is well known because of their quality products. Paula likes animals...including mice. |
Mark and Paula couldn't resist picking up several packages including Sharp Aged Cheddar, Blue Cheese and Port Wine Cheese. |
Mark and Paula then ventured
on and stopped at the Leinie
Lodge in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, near Eau Claire. It is the home of the very popular regional Leinenkugel Beer. |
There were samples of several kinds of beer to try. A happy place to visit. |
Paula liked the Oktoberfest shirts. |
