Tuesday, August 28, 2012: Paula received a shipment of fresh peaches from Washington State. It was a part of a charity fund-raising project by the Brainerd Rotary Club. |
Later in the day she was busy cooking chicken on the BBQ using her secret sauce. Paula says, "I usually cook with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food." |

Salads at Gilbert Lodge are more than just lettuce. They often start with locally grown lettuce, tomatoes, celery, and cheese. Then it is time for the dressing. Choices....choices. Decisions decisions, I can't make decisions! |

Paula's Later it was time to go for a spin on the Minnow on Gilbert Lake. It is very common to see water skiers having a great time. |

Sunset came all too soon. |

The moon shown brightly on the other side of the lake. A nice clear evening. We morn the recent loss of U.S. Astronaut Neil Armstrong, but celebrate his accomplishment of being the first human being to walk on the moon. |
A young couple was out looking at the moon one night. She said, "Isn't it beautiful?" He said, "Yes, but you should have seen it before they walked on it!" |
Quote of the day: Summer is a magic time in Minnesota. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
