Wednesday,
July 11, 2012:
It was the annual Bean Hole Days in Pequot Lakes,
Minnesota.
This fun event draws thousands of people especially on a bright summer day like this one was. The water tower is in the shape of a fishing bobber....an interesting draw for tourists. |
Five large pots of beans were buried in burning
charcoal 24 hours before.
Uncovered this day, they were hot and smelled great. |
What better way to stir the beans than with a canoe
paddle.
What else would you use? |
Then it was time to serve the beans to the hungry crowd. |
The event included dozens of art vendors and fast food stands. Everyone walked away happy. |
Quote of the day: All that for a free cup of beans. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
