Sunday,
July 1, 2012: It was the 38th annual Arts in the Park in Brainerd.
Thousands showed up on this sunny day with 90 degree temperatures. At least 100 artists showed and sold their work. |
Then there were classic cars for the guys to see.
This 1937 Ford Roadster was beautifully restored and upgraded. |
It had a better looking engine compartment than the day it was manufactured. |
A 28 Ford AR Phaeton. A real gem. |
This 31 Ford Roadster was nothing to sneeze at
either. Not all cars were Fords, but apparently Ford is a popular item. |
Then Mark came across this 47 Ford Coupe.
It was born the same year he was. Which one is in better condition today? |
No one can go to an event like this without trying out the food.
Mark, is that foot-long hotdog in your hand? Answer: Yes, with mustard and catsup. It doesn't get any better than this! |
Musician Paul Imholte was there playing hammered dulcimer....along with other instruments like mouth organ and guitar. |
The Wow! Mark and Paula ran into Heather
Erickson, Miss Brainerd Lakes 2012.
Heather, 22, plans to go to the University of Minnesota with the hope of becoming a heart surgeon. She sure had Mark's heart going. |
Almost everyone went home with a bag of Kettle Corn. |
Paula went home with a photograph printed on canvas. It is a loon with its child. Mark and Paula really like it. Very Minnesotan. The print is now in a guest bath at Gilbert Lodge. |
Quote of the day: It was a great day to see friends too. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
