Saturday, September 24, 2011: Mark and Paula ventured to Nisswa, Minnesota, where it was Oktoberfest at the American Legion Club. A polka band prompted some to get up and have a good time dancing. It is also obvious that we have a big-time Minnesota Vikings fan on the dance floor. |
How could it be Oktoberfest without some beer? |
Paula chose a schnitzel sandwich for lunch. |
Mark liked the rib mit kraut (spare ribs with sauerkraut). He graduated from high school in Marshfield, Wisconsin, where sauerkraut was a staple of life. According to Mark, "It doesn't get any better than this!" |
Nisswa was also having its annual fall festival. While Paula was shopping, Mark was found at the local candy store. He picked pumpkin and cinnamon ice cream as a dessert for lunch. |
Fall displays were everywhere getting people into the fall spirit. |
Even pets were dressed up for the occasion. |
This man and his wife drove their British MG car to the festival. It was made in England in 1950 and has a four cylinder engine. The top speed is 60 miles per hour. A great ride on a fall day. |
Quote of the day: Nisswa is a fun place. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
