         The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons
Monday, August 22, 2011: Chef Paula was out on the Promenade Deck cooking steak...buffalo steak.  Because buffalo is very lean, she decided to spice up the flavor with a marinade.  Well, those extra ingredients added to the heat by nicely searing the outside of the meat.
It looked like it was done early, but no, it needed more time on the grill.
Finally on the table with vegetables from a local farmer's market, it was terrific.
Wednesday, August 24, 2011: Mark photographed 49 year old Erik Bendl and his dog from Louisville, Kentucky.  This interesting man was on a walking journey from Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to Lake Itasca in northern Minnesota where the Mississippi River begins its journey south to the Gulf of Mexico. This is one of five trips he has made covering over 3000 miles through 26 states, averaging 15 miles a day. 

His goal is to raise awareness of diabetes, which his mother died of at the young age of 54.  Find out more about this man at http://www.worldguy.org  We wish him well.
