         The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Saturday, July 23, 2011:  Mark and Paula were at the annual Relay for Life event at Don Adamson Field in Brainerd.  This was a charity event to raise money for cancer research.  Note the ribbons on these cupcakes. 

Probably a thousand people showed up including these people from the Brainerd noon Rotary Club.  Paula, on the right, was one of them.

 
Balloons were released into the sky by cancer survivors.

 
Then the walk began in the fund raising effort.
The sky showed its appreciation for all those who turned out.
It was an event for kids as well as adults. 
There was plenty of enthusiasm there too. 

In the background, you will see just some of the thousands of luminaries with names of cancer victims and survivors.
