Tuesday, July 5, 2011: Chef Paula prepared a chicken dinner with eleven secret herbs and spices, which she rubbed into the skin of the chicken. |
Potatoes were topped with butter and fresh chives. |
Chef Paula used the Bar-B-Q on the Promenade Deck to cook the turkey. It started out as a "beer can chicken" dinner, but the chicken was 3-1/2 pounds and it wouldn't stay on top of the beer can. Instead, Paula laid it on a rack and poured the beer into the chicken and the pan below. |
She cut the chicken with great enthusiasm before it was served. |
On the plate, this Amish-raised chicken was excellent tasting. |
Later, Paula was out on Gilbert Lake fishing from the Minnow with
Mark.
Paula, are you still trying to gather more food for the next meal at Gilbert Lodge? |
One lucky fisherman on the lake did well that night. Two northern. | |
Loons were out too enjoying what remained of the day. |
Sunset that day was spectacular. |
On this day in 2010: Deep Diver Paula was SCUBA diving at the mine pits near Crosby, Minnesota. Details |
Quote of the day: A fitting end to a summer day. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
