         The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

Monday, July 4, 2011:  Mark and Paula were off to the annual Scott family picnic on Round Lake near Garrison, Minnesota.  All of the usual relatives showed up to have a good time during the mid-80's temperature day.
These young men honored our flag on our nation's Independence Day.  
Party hosts were Candice "Candy" and Jack Scott.  They have put this on this for 30 or more years and they have a great time doing it.  Now retired, they live in Minnesota in the summer and in Texas during the winter months.
The food included ham, and wild turkey done three different ways.  How can you keep on a diet with all this good food?   
At 1 PM, the Independence Day parade began on the lake with many colorful floats including this one with three versions of the Statue of Liberty.
Three young military men were honored with great cheers. 
What kind of parade would you have without a dinghy boat at the end?
   Finally it was time for the annual egg toss.  Paula is the instigator of the event as well as being a participant.  Well, she did not do so well as the egg she was trying to catch literally exploded in her hands spraying her and the ground.  Better luck next time, Paula! 

It was just a chance photo by Mark who was the official photographer of the event.
