Sunday, July 3, 2011: The sunfish are nesting where Paula went diving. The fish swim in circles making a nest within the weeds and then lay their eggs. |
Sunfish guard their eggs and are very protective of their nests. Notice the white below this fish where the are eggs are. |
These guys were just hanging out in the trees. |
This bass decided to come and check out the divers. |
It was like this little guy was smiling/frowning at the camera. He eventually came and picked at Paula's mask. | |
This northern swam by quickly. They don't hang around long. Very skittish...not like the sunfish that will come and check divers out. |
After the morning dive, Paula still had air left. That afternoon, she took a dive in Gilbert Lake just off a friend's dock in about 19 feet of water. Paula took a picture and still can't figure out what it is. It was metal and very heavy. She thought it is some sort of sawhorse or stand for heavy equipment. There were two of them down there.. |
Quote of the day: It is a whole different world down there. Paula | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
