Saturday, June 18, 2011: Chef Paula has been on a campaign to help Mark loose weight....and loose weight herself in the process. To that end, she decided to make sweet potato fries. First she pealed and cut two sweet potatoes into strips like French fries. |
She basted the fries with olive oil, then added a touch of salt and pepper. |
She oven baked the fries at 425 degrees rather than deep frying them. |
Then buffalo burgers were prepared at the grill on the Promenade Deck at Gilbert Lodge. Buffalo (bison) is known for having very little fat. It looks and tastes a lot like hamburger. |
Here it is on the table with raw carrots, yellow pepper, and
broccoli, which is referred to as a culinary vegetable. It was like a burger and fries with very little fat and calories.....except for the ketchup that is. You never know what Chef Paula is going to try next. |
