Monday, May 30, 2011:  Radar showed a storm headed to Brainerd, Minnesota, at 11:38 PM.

By 11:52 PM there was plenty of cloud-to-cloud lightning.  It lit up the sky turning night almost into day.  The storm took less than an hour to pass through.  Rainfall measured 0.9 inches in that brief period of time.  

It has been an unusually late and cold spring.  Rainfall was 4.8 inches in May.  The average is 3.0 inches for May.
