Wednesday, February 23, 2011: Deep Diver Paula was in the salt water again at Grand Cayman Island. She saw and photographed a variety of fish that she does not see while diving in Minnesota. |
This one is a coney. I wonder how they taste!
Wow...a lion fish! |
A moray eel awaits its next victim.
A spotfish butterfly fish.
Turtles were abundant in the warm waters.
This is an anomonie. |
Paula photographed her dive buddy Scuba Leslie. |
Wednesday, February 23, 2011 e-mail from Deep Diver Paula: Hi Hon: Finished another day of three dives. This morning we ran into another lion fish and got a nice photo of it. A Moray eel was hidden under a ledge. Got to see two turtles today. One earlier in the morning. After lunch we were able to go diving with two guys from upper New York. Fred is on his 30th trip down here so he definitely knows the area. They were able to show us a turtle, some shrimp, and some very small blennies, which are very tiny creatures that pop up out of sponges. They navigated us to the Nicholson, a wreck just outside our hotel and then back to the resort. Is nice not to have to worry about navigating. Hope all is going well. Really having a nice time. Could get into this vacation thing. Have to call it quits. Need to go to dinner. Love and miss you. XXXOOO Deep Diver Paula |
Back at the ranch (Gilbert Lodge), Mark shoveled another two inch of partly cloudy (snow) off the driveway. Grand Cayman at 80 degrees is starting to sound like a nice place to be. |
Only 22 days until St. Patrick's Day. |
Quote of the day: You never know what Paula is going to run into. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
