Friday, February 4, 2011: It was the 42nd birthday of Paul Hirst. Paul is the architect who designed Gilbert Lodge. His company is Oldham Hirst Design. Paul's wife Teresa designed and built the birthday cake. It was a vanilla cake with chocolate frosting, topped with M & M's. You can't beat that for originality and taste. Just look at those diagonal lines on the cake. |
There were posters throughout the Hirst residence with questions and thoughts about Paul's 42 years. One of the 20 or so people attending the birthday party was a math major. Mark asked her, "What is the square root of of 1764?" The answer was 42, Paul's age! Top songs from Paul's birth year (1969) were Sugar Sugar, Aquarius, Let the Sun Shine in, Honky Tonk Woman, and Everyday People. |
Paula and some of the guests amused themselves with games in the living room. |
Mark lost no time finding and eating a piece of the birthday cake with ice cream. He knows exactly what to do when there is food around. Only 41 days until St. Patrick's Day! |
Quote of the day: Birthday parties are fun events. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
