         The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons

January 2, 2011:  Sunrise was after 8 AM to clear skies and -9 degree temperatures.  Looking northwest from Gilbert Lodge at about 9 AM, we see sun on the far shore of narrows on Gilbert lake, but sun's rays have not yet hit the lake.

Josie the cat decided to stay in where it is warm and entertain Mark and Paula from a bathroom sink.    

Later in the day, Mark and Paula headed to Crosslake, Minnesota, on slippery roads.

Minnesota was, and still is, a farm state.  It is comforting to see a red barn here and there on the landscape.   

A group of friends, family, and supporters celebrated the election of Darrell Schneider to the office of Mayor of Crosslake, population 2096.  Darrell took the oath of office and assumed the duties of Mayor starting January 1st.  We wish him well in his new position.
