Sunday, December 12, 2010: Paula was in the Great Room with kids from the neighborhood who stopped in briefly. She gave them the story about some of the ornaments on the Christmas tree. |
Because the weather had been cold (-10 degrees overnight with a -25 degree wind-chill), Chef Paula was in the Galley preparing her famous low-cal vegetable soup from scratch. |
Soup always tastes great when accompanied by Swedish Rye Bread from Ingebretsen's in Minneapolis. With a slightly sweet taste, it keeps you going back for more. |
On the table, the soup was terrific. It had cabbage, carrots, onions, celery, a tomato base, and turkey left-over from Thanksgiving. With the rye bread and Wisconsin cheese, it hit the spot. |
Who could end a meal like that without ice cream? This one has chocolate and was served in a Christmas mug. Monday, December 13, 2010: The morning temperature was 17 degrees below zero with a 25 below wind chill. The high temperature predicted this day was around zero degrees. |
Quote of the day: Cold weather and hot soup go together Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
