Black Friday, November 26, 2010: Mark and Paula were out the door before 5 AM to see what Black Friday is all about. A dusting of snow left the roads snow covered. Their fist stop was for breakfast at Prairie Bay Restaurant in Baxter. How early did the cook need to get up in order to start serving at 4 AM? Head Chef Matt Annand was there to prepare a ham and cheese omelet for Paula. Mark had one too with some Butternut Squash Bisque. Great stuff! |
The moon beamed brightly while the morning temperature was
just 7 degrees with very little wind at sunrise.
The Dynamic Duo saw full to overflowing parking lots at Herbergers, Target, Radio Shack, and many other stores. Best Buy had a line of shoppers stretching from the back of the store to the front for checkout. Door buster sales were everywhere. They even checked out bargains at Fleet Farm, otherwise known as the "Man's Mall." |
At 8 AM the sun was up and there was a clear sky. Mark and Paula ran into close their personal friends Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause. They discussed Christmas presents and posed for this photo in front of the WWWI Radio studios on West Washington Street in Brainerd. The event was a charity "Toys for Kids" fund raiser run by the Brainerd Marine Corps League. (Thanks to Lon Schmidt for the photo) |
Quote of the day: Black Friday is a crazy time. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
