Friday, October 8, 2010: The Minnow was out on it's last run of the season. Along the way, Canadian geese were spotted gathering on the waters of Gilbert Lake. They were trying to decide which way is south so they could fly to a warmer climate for the winter. |
The Minnow was now on a trailer on its way to Brainerd Sports and Marine to be put in storage for the winter. Mark is being offered a handkerchief by Mark Kruse to cry on because it is the end of the boating season. Photo by Paula. |
Paula, the window washer, was doing windows in preparation for winter. |
Josie the cat is in the guest room sleeping in the sun. It doesn't get any better than this. |
Chef Paula took some left over salmon and combined it with noodles and olive oil on the stove in the Grand Galley at Gilbert Lodge. |
On the dinner table it tasted great. It also looked vaguely like Mickey Mouse with a beard. |
October 11, 2010 e-mail: I wanted to let you know that the blog just gets better and better! Great pictures and I enjoy the commentary as well. Always a sad time to see the boats come out of the water in the fall. Before you know it – you’ll be posting pictures of Paula with the snow blower. Sure seems like Paula is doing most of the work around the lodge. Doug in Wadena, MN.
Quote of the day: Summers are definitely too short! Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
