Sunday, July 17, 2022:  The only rainy day on the trip was at Juneau, Alaska.
A river was seen flowing downhill from clouds above while a bus passed below.

A boat awaited Mark and Paula.

Whales were seen on that trip.

They would appear briefly and then dive deep for another ten minues before coming up for another show.

This seal was seen on a navigational bouy.

The Mendenhall Glacier.  There is an iceberg floating away.
The colored spots on the lower left were sight seers with umbrellas.

A piece of glacier ice.

Paula headed into town to check out the hot spots.

The Red Dog Saloon was a hopping place.

Hippy music was a crowd pleaser.

Colorful characters, including Mark drinking a local beer.

Cruise ship passengers were ferried ashore and back by tenders.  You can see the pilot in one of the upper windows.

This one could hold 250 people.  It can serve as a lifeboat as well.

Nightlife aboard ship.

A perfect way to end the day.

Quote of the day:   There was always something to do.  Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
