Friday, July 15, 2022:  A pilot came aboard to guide the ship through a portion of the inland passage.

All eyes were on the lookout for something.

There it was, the Hubbard Glacier on Disenchantment Bay.  The glacier is six miles wide.

A close-up shows ice that is some 400 feet high.  Pieces break off continuously.

Here is another glacier entering from left of Hubbard.

Small iceburgs.  The larger one is about twenty-feet across.

It was a bit cool near the icy glacier while it had been 60 degrees when further out to sea.

Another ship came in to see the glaciers too.

Beautiful scenery as the Orion was leaving.

Cultural talks then started in the Orion's Star Theatre.

Visitors learned about the culture of Alaska.

Paula really loves solving jigsaw puzles like many other passengers.

There was entertainment on stage that night.

The audience loved it.  Shown is just half of the attendees that night.

The ship sailed on through the night.

Quote of the day:   There was always something to do.  Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
