Wednesday, January 5, 2022: 
Sunrise came up at 8 am over Rice Lake on the Mississippi River at Brainerd.
The sun shone brightly during that cold day when the temperature came up to zero degrees.
 
Chef Paula took the time to make corn chowder to warm Lodge guests.
Sunset came at 4:46 pm.  The overnight temperature dropped to 12 below zero, with a forecast of -32 on the 7th.
