Tuesday, October 5,
2021:
The day was overcast, but Mark and Paula headed to Mackinaw
Island. The ferry captain was a happy guy.
They made land at Mackinaw Island a half hour later.
Hmmm horses and bicycles. NO automobiles.
That's right. One and two
horsepower public transportation.
With horses comes you-know-what on the
streets. There are workers hired to clean it up!
Lots of bicycles, many carrying
tourist luggage.
There is a park named after Father
Jacque Marquette. Lady Liberty stands guard over the nearby port.
The island is know for its great
fudge. Birds like chocolate too.
Horses everywhere.
Beach Comber Paula spent time looking
for rocks.
Local birds were looking after her.
Then it was over to the
Mission Point
Resort for a room.
