Sunday, September 30, 2018:    Mark and Paula Persons headed to the Public Garden at Boston Commons.
Bronze statues of a mother duck and her ducklings were on parade.

Paula is big with small animals.  The man on the right was relaxing with his pipe.

There is a memorial to firemen who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Mark and Paula went to the top of the 52 floor/749 foot Prudential Tower to see Boston from above.
The sights on that day were very good.

Sail boats were out racing on the Charles River.

Fenway Park, where the Red Sox play baseball, was visible from there too.

Then Paula decided to find the Boston Public Library.  Hmmm...where is it?
She studied a map and decided public transportation was a good way to get there.

The library is a huge place used by a lot of people.

The murals are beautifully done.

Then it was time to see the old part of town.

The Bell in Hand Tavern, America's oldest tavern, goes back to 1795.

Street musicians playing for tips that night.

There were even horse carriages for those who wanted to ride instead of walk.

Looking out over Boston's harbor after sunset.

Quote of the day:     There is a lot to see in Boston.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
