Wednesday, May 30, 2018: Good
friend Paul Hirst, husband of Teresa, showed Mark and Paula around. This is High Street in Maidenhead, England. Note, there are no cars, just foot traffic to stores. High Streets in most English small towns are like that. Life is easier there. |
More businesses with British flags flying between them. |
Chef Paula makes it a
habit of stopping at restaurants and stores in other countries to get
ideas. |
Then there is
this ale house, which is either named after the town or what the town
was named after. Nobody knows. |
Yes, they even
have pool halls in England. |
The
Vine is another popular local establishment. The temperatures were
mild, but Britain has cloudy skies most of the time. |
Almost all buildings and homes are built with brick in England. This is the legacy of the Great Fire of London back in 1666. |
Quote of the day: More to come on this adventure. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
