Tuesday, May 29, 2018:
The
Minneapolis/St Paul, MN, airport. This was the first day for new uniforms on Delta Airline flight attendants. They were proud to show them off and had a great attitude toward passengers. All this in spite of flights being delayed an hour while rain a storm moved through. |
Then it was up
in the sky for a 7 hour and 43 minute flight east in a Boeing 767-300
traveling at 560 miles per hour. The outside air temperature was -72 degrees F at 35,000 feet. Wind chill was off the chart. |
Lingering
colors from the sunset were beautiful. |
There was a
star to guide them safely through the night. |
The plane flew
over Ireland on it's way to Heathrow Airport at London, England. Mark and Paula arrived at 3 am Brainerd time, 9 am London time. They explained to locals that they just arrived from the American Colonies from "across the pond." |
Then, Mark and
Paula were picked up by good friend Teresa Hirst who drove on the left
(wrong) side of the road!!!! Apparently that is the custom in England and other countries where they speak with a British accent. Mark had his eyes covered while she drove to her flat at Maidenhead, England, about an hour north of London. |
Quote of the day: Time to get some rest after the long flight. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
