Paula headed out on frozen Gilbert Lake to get some exercise. She was using wooden show shoes, which she made some 20 years ago. |

Then this man showed up on snowmobile with gear to fish. |

|
He
quickly drilled a hole in the ice, which was just over 12 inches thick. |
 |
|
Then
he, Paula, and his daughter got down to the business of checking lake depth and
dipping a line in the water. |
 |
|
No bites
so the man's son decided to try Paula's snow shoes. Not bad for a
beginner. |
 |
| His daughter gave up too and started rolling snow. |
