Monday, February 5, 2018:
Paula met with her friend Scuba Leslie at Monticello, Minnesota, for lunch. They also stopped to see swans along the Mississippi River. |
These
are
Trumpeter Swans. The dark colored ones are the young. |
A local group feeds the swans all winter. |
The food
is mostly corn. The swans love it. |
Yes,
they thrive in the cold weather and water which is open because it is downstream
from a nearby nuclear plant. The water is entirely safe and a favorite place for birds year round. |
