Saturday, August 5, 2017:  Paula and Mark were in St. Ignace, MI, and stopped at a local spot for breakfast.

Yes, it is a favorite 1950's type place for locals and tourists alike.
Paula wore a diving shirt and Mark had on a fishing shirt.

What's on the menu?  Well, you can order a pasty for breakfast.  It is a meat pie that was a favorite of miners in years past.
Pasties is still a frequently ordered item.  They go great with gravy or tomato ketchup.

Paula went SCUBA diving in the cold waters of the Great Lakes while Mark went for ferry boat ride.
The ferry captain that day was Jennifer Starr, no relation to Star Line.
She has been piloting ferry boats for four years and loves the job.

Hydro-jet driven boats throw up a huge water plume.

This day the ferry was going under the Mackinac Bridge.

Everyone wanted to be aboard and many had cameras.

A rainbow appeared after leaving the bridge. A fitting tribute to the Great Lakes.

Then the boat was off with another boat in its wake.  But, to where?
Stay tuned for the next episode on this exciting Blog.

Quote of the day:    Never a dull moment.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
