Saturday, June 17, 2017: Hundreds traveled by boat and car to the annual Whitefish Chain Antique & Classic Wood Boat Rendezvous at Moonlight Bay.
|
Lots of wooden boats to see. Each one a gem in its own right.
|
Yes, there was a lot to discuss. |
One had a 12-cylinder engine. Great pushing power! |
Onlookers were ashore and on the water. |
Boat designs were as varied as people's opinions on which was best. |
Hmmm....Gatsby, as in the movie the Great Gatsby. Nicely done. |
This man said his "grandson" boat was just a small version of the real thing. |
Lots to see including fiberglass boats from the 1960s. |
Every boat had something unique. This runabout looked fun. |
Operating controls for some were very detailed. |
This lady was having a great time just saying hi to people. Nice hat too. |
Then there were the model boats. One is named Moonlight Bay, like the restaurant. |
This man and his dog preferred paddle power to engine power. |
The event was broadcast, as usual, on WJJY Radio in Brainerd. |
Quote of the day: Always fun to see the boats. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
