Thursday, June 15,
2017: Three
men from
Mike's Tree
Company showed up to take down two trees at Gilbert Lodge. Both trees were leaning toward the Lodge and needed to be put on the ground by professionals to avoid serious damage. |
They started by
limbing a pine tree near the Lodge entrance. Lots of wood chips
fell as two of the men looked on. |
Then the top was cut off. You can see
it starting to fall in this photo. |
The bottom came down next with the help of a line and two me to
make it fall in the right direction. |
Here was Paula the next day surveying the
damage after she piled some of the branches for later disposal. The wood will be used in the Grand Fireplace and the Fire Ring at the Lodge. |
Back on the job, one of the guys climbed
another tree using spikes on his boots. |
He went high enough to get into a good
position to top this tree too. |
One man pulled on a line on the ground. |
Over it went while wood chips flew from a
chainsaw. |
Finally, one of them cleaned chips and other debris from the steel roof. |
Quote of the day: A very professional job. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
