2016: There was a
Supermoon
that night. It was the brightest since 1948. Supermoons happen when the Earth and Moon are closest together in the Moon's orbit around our planet. Lots of details were evident including pock marks on the surface, best seen along the left edge in this photo. |

The next night was a bit cloudy, but the Supermoon could be
seen peaking out from behind Brainerd's famous concrete water tower. The next Supermoon will occur in eighteen years......Monday, November 25, 2034. |
