Friday, June 24, 2016:  Mark and Paula visited the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory in the Twin Cities.

They toured the butterfly area with hundreds of the creatures.  Mark found that butterflies like to land on colorful blue clothing.

The butterflies were in many different colors.  A natural attraction for photographers.

Butterflies everywhere.  They like bananas, oranges, and watermelon.  Hmmm...must be on a diet!

Then Mark and Paula cam across the gorillas.  Do you see a family resemblance between a gorilla and Paula??
Gorillas range in weight between 200 and 500 pounds.  The live up to 50 years.

There was a trained seal that loved to do tricks and eat fish.  Trick, eat, trick, eat, trick, eat...the audience and the seal loved it.

Imagine that, giraffes in Minnesota.  They like to eat green leafy plants.

Snakes, huh!  Well, you can't pick your relatives, but you can pick your friends.

Quote of the day:    See Turtle in the Mist from a previous visit.   Mark    < Back to previous story Ahead to next story >
