Friday, May 27, 2016:  People were out cleaning graves and putting up flowers in preparation for Memorial Day.
 
Local veterans were out at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, just north of Brainerd, installing flags. 
Yes, it was raining that day, but that didn't stop them.
 
Eagle's Landing Golf Club, south of Brainerd along Highway 371, puts out a very nice display of flags every Memorial Day weekend.
 
Nice display.
 
Then on Saturday, a Cub Scout Troop showed up to place flags at Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.
 
Hundreds of flags and a large area to put them in.  The goal was to make one or more flags visible from any spot in the cemetery.
 
Scouts saluted a flag in memory of fallen soldiers.  Nicely done.
