Tuesday,
September 22, 2015:
Mark and Paula headed west and paid their respects at the Black Hills National Cemetery, near Sturgis, South Dakota. It is a fitting resting spot for so many who served their country. Row on row, they lie in peace. |
There's a signpost up ahead! Which way should they go? Well, a wise man once said, "If you come to a fork in the road, then go that way!" |
The Dynamic Duo headed for
Devil's
Tower in Wyoming. It looked awesome from a distance. |
|
Made famous by the movie, "Close
Encounters of the Third Kind." The number of visitors skyrocketed from 71,000 before the movie to 450,000 annually after. Everyone wanted to see Devil's Tower up close. |
|
There is a one-mile path
around Devil's Tower in rocky and wooded land. The sun was just
right that day to shine down from above the tower. |
|
If you think it looks high from the ground, there were at least two climbers scaling the tower that day. |
Paula is always looking out for the
little guy. She stopped to snap a photo of a prairie dog.
Cute little things. |
|
The scenery in that part of the world is very striking. High hills and rushing water below. |
There's another signpost up ahead. Hmmm....what does this mean? |
Quote of the day: Stay tuned for the next exciting adventure. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
