         The life and times of Mark and Paula Persons
Monday, September 14, 2015: 

Laura de Witte return and brought her fiancé Mark van der Meulen.

The couple is from the Netherlands. 

Laura was in the U.S. as a foreign exchange student in Brainerd back in 2005.

She was last seen at Gilbert Lodge on May 31, 2005, over ten years ago.
The photo on the left is from 2005 when Laura was piloting the Minnow on Gilbert Lake, and today on the right.  Hardly any change.  Still the same fun-loving person.
 
Plenty of things to see on Gilbert including a paddle board and a Minnesota Loon.
 


Chef Paula

  
Then it was dinner at Gilbert lodge, compliments of Chef Paula.

A "Midwest U.S.A." dinner of:
Pork chops from Iowa
Wild rice from northern Minnesota
Cranberries from Wisconsin
Peas from southern Minnesota.

Indian Island Wine from Janesville, Minnesota, was served.

 
Mark told of his work as a professional driver for executives in Europe.  http://www.wylst.nl  Laura handles loans at a bank and is very good at what she does.
Mark and Paula learned a lot about Europe and the Netherlands.  Everyone had a great time.
