Saturday,
September 5, 2015:
Mark and Paula attended the Minnesota State Fair for the second day in a row. How smart are they? Well, a reported 1,779,738 people attended this year. |
There are the usual fair goers and
then there are some who go to see the people or paint the scene, as this
artist was doing. |
There were many vendors, including
artists, selling their wares.
Buc Taylor, actor
and artist, posed with one of his
paintings. It looked like he was wishing he was young again to be the man in the painting. |
The
Willis Clan entertained at the Leinie
Lodge Bandshell, sponsored by
Leinenkugel. This fourteen member family is an amazing entertainment group from Nashville, Tennessee. Music is their life. Very nicely done. Highly recommended. They do not have a television....their entertainment at home is making music and dancing. To watch themselves on TV, they need to call grandma and ask to come over! |
One of the newest foods
at the fair was the Burger Dog. Pretty good tasting too. |
|
The "everything on a
stick" venue really looked good, but it wasn't for Mark that day. He wanted the real
thing, a turkey leg, which he got! Great eating. |
|
No one can eat salty food without a dessert. Mark and Paula chose chocolate malted milk. Many chose chocolate chip cookies. |
Mark enjoyed watching Steve Thompson
and Doug Swinhart live on the air on
WCCO Radio's Tech Talk program that day A very informative
computer show. |
Everyone wanted their
photo taken at the fair. |
|
Paula wanted a Key Lime Pie Bar. She remembers tasting Key Lime Pie at Key Largo and other places in Florida last January. |
Quote of the day: Always fun to go to the Minnesota State Fair. Mark | < Back to previous story | Ahead to next story > |
